Bellamy's Ladybug Birthday Bash!
We finally celebrated our sweet Bella Rue last weekend (despite her birthday being January 5!) - planning a party in January feels like it takes 4 times the work that it would any other month. Each year, her birthday comes and I act surprised, like whoa, I have to get my shit together. The holidays have a way of blinding me from reality. Anyhow, the party happened, it went off without a hitch and we ended the day with tears that her birthday was finally over ... talk about a reality check. NOW...party deets!
Because weekends can be busy, we decided to do a breakfast party, complete with mimosas, donuts and pink milk. I'll just be transparent here: I wanted an excuse to drink bottomless mimosas and my four year old's birthday was the perfect chance. MOM. WIN. TYVM.
The menu was fresh berries, sprinkle donuts (ladybug colors, of course), pink milk (these straws are everything), and mimosas. The kids played (savages), we had a station set up on the dining room table to decorate your own ladybugs (Cricut machine, you da real MVP on this one) and I even managed to put together a little game of "pin the spots on the ladybug" ... when someone asked Bella how you win, she said "you don't!" ... :)
We always grew up having birthday parties at home, all of our friends barreling into the house, eating cake, kicking their feet up on the sofas and making themselves cozy. And I have to say, it felt rather reminiscent of the those good old days this weekend. The kids had all their favorite people in one place, we were in the coziness & comfort of our own home and i was filled with abundance as I took it all in. THESE are the good ol' days.
