A Weekend in Leavenworth
We had the BEST weekend but if I'm being real, we're all a bit sad it's over! Usually when we leave town with kids, I can't wait to get home and spread out, have my bed back and get a hot shower in a non-shared space. However, we had SO much fun this trip, the kids were a blast, and it was the perfect destination.
We drove about two hours east to a little bavarian-style village called Leavenworth. It's incredibly kid friendly, but also packed full of wine tasting rooms and breweries, so perfect for adult only trips, too! We stayed at the Icicle Village Hotel - which was just perfect for our fam. The hotel had two heated pools with insane mountain views, playgrounds, put-put golf, and was only minutes to downtown.
There was live music around every corner, we ate brats and soft pretzels with Beecher's cheese dip, ice cream, italian sodas and SO. MANY. PASTRIES. Which is my love language. We walked through the Hat Store and the Wood Shop (a toy store full of handmade beauties), and the kid's favorite, Kris Kringl (where it's Christmas all year!!).
Leavenworth is very famous during Christmas, but we also love going in the summer - the weather is gorgeous, it sits right on the Wenatchee River (that's gorgeous to walk along) and it literally feels like a mini escape into Germany. SO freaking fun.
