A Luxe Master Bedroom Makeover
Well, the kids have all gotten full on room-makeovers as each baby comes (exhibit a/b/c/d) and it was officially our turn. I mean, the room where "the magic happens" definitely needed some magic if you know what I'm saying.
Our room hasn't changed in 4 years (I know, it doesn't sound like that long but the only constant in my life is change and I love it that way - so 4 years feels like a legit eternity) and it was time for an upgrade. Our mattress was getting old and we needed an upgrade, so we decided to take the leap into a KING. I know, you're probably thinking what an absolute tragedy that we slept on a queen size mattress for 8 years. But the truth was, we loved the queen size, and didn't actually feel like we were squished. Well, now that we've slept on a king size mattress for a few months, we can both agree we basically slept in a jail cell for the past 8 years. Turns out sleeping like a starfish is where it's at. :)
I really wanted to have this room feel crisp & clean with a little flair. I tried to bring in rich colors & fabrics but still keep it cozy. This rug is literally the softest rug on your feet - the kids lay on it in the mornings with their blankies and it's just the perfect piece. We got the 9x12 size.
And of course, Rick. If you follow me on instagram, you'll know that that's our Fiddle Leave Fig tree. I bought it fully mature for an undisclosed amount of money ... ;) ... and have made it my life's mission to keep it alive. It's basically a 5th child and if Rick dies, my soul will go forth with him. If you have tips for Rick's survival, please send them to me. I'm taking all advice (no neg vibes plz) .
The best accessory to a fluffy bed will always be a squishy baby!
I absolutely love how this space turned out, it's my new favorite room and I'm obsessed with our bed. SWEET DREAMS, FRIENDS!
