An Adult Advent Idea (for those who never grow out of the magic!)
Ok, I fully realize we're a few days into December already, but I can assure you, it's never too late to celebrate! I finally got our advent calendar set up over the weekend and whilst we missed the first two days, we will be sure to more than make up for it the rest of the month (however, I'm certain I deserve some Christmas grace - I've had my tree up since Nov 2. )
Ok, so much of Christmas is about the kids, making it magical and memorable for them, and while seeing them find magic is just as special for me, I thought I'd add in another element. I set up an advent calendar for Collin & Me, and so far, I'm loving it.
We each got 12 cards (one for each day and then both on the 24th) and wrote out little treats for each other - these can be as simple as "Take the night off of dish duty!" or as elaborate as "new shoes!" (Praying for Gucci loafers over here...) Once everyone has written their notes for eachother, shuffle them up and blindly place them in random dates. (Collin hadn't finished his yet when I took these pics, but it's full now!) When you wake up, pull a card and see who's lucky day it is! You might get 3 in a row, but the favor will be returned at some point!
This is such an easy and fun way to indulge each other, speak eachothers love languages and bring some magic into the Christmas season for everyone!
You can start now, or even wait for the 12 days of Christmas! There are no rules, except NO PEEKING!
